Senior Full Stack Developer
ApplyCompany description
Finteli is an early-stage, pre-seed startup building B2B licensed software for financial practices. We help firms run structured, AI-assisted work on real client files with qualified accountants staying in control of outputs before anything is finalised.
Role description
This is not a narrow ticket factory role. You will join as an early engineer and take on real ownership from day one, with room to expand and develop as the company grows.
Expect to work across the full stack: product experience, APIs, data modelling, third-party integrations, and the operational basics (testing, CI, deployment, security-minded defaults). You will shape how we build, not only what we ship next week.
Required skills & experience
- Strong TypeScript skills in production (3+ years), including typing, modules, and async patterns
- React experience building non-trivial SPAs (hooks, state, forms, API-driven UI)
- Node.js backend experience (Express or similar): routing, middleware, REST, structured errors
- LLM / AI SDK usage (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) - structured outputs, cost and latency awareness
- AI agent development - assisting in the creation of tailored AI agents
- SQL / relational databases - comfortable reading and writing migrations, queries, and basic modelling
- Git workflow in a team (PRs, code review, CI)
- API integration experience (REST, auth headers, webhooks, env-based configuration)
- Testing discipline - unit tests for logic you own; manual QA for user flows
- Communication skills - you can explain trade-offs to non-engineers in a product-led startup
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to haves
- Postgres (indexes, constraints, row-level security concepts)
- Supabase or similar BaaS (Auth-adjacent patterns, Storage, client libraries)
- Clerk (or Auth0 / WorkOS) - organisations, roles, JWT / session flows
- Document processing - PDF / Excel parsing, chunking, citation-style UX
- Docker and deploying Node services (Railway, Fly.io, AWS, Render, etc.)
- Vite build tooling and production front-end performance
- Zod or similar runtime validation
